Kandinsky Trio Concert Series

The Kandinsky Trio will feature works that include Mozart?s G Major Trio, K. 496 and the Smetana Trio in G Minor, Op. 15. The Mozart piece is a wonderful, delicately balanced conversation between three instruments. It speaks to the optimism of the Age of Enlightenment. To contrast, the program will end with Smetana?s masterpiece, the Trio in G Minor. Written in 1855, this elegiac work was composed as a tribute to his eldest daughter who died the previous year. From its heart-wrenching opening to the triumphant finale, this trio stands as a stunning testament to music?s ability to transform pain into beauty.
