This production is Roanoke Children's Theatre's issue-based play that targets teens and middle school audiences. Partnering with local school districts, Prevention Council of Roanoke Valley, and other key community partners, this production uses theatre to educate parens and teens about issues they are facing. The Ice Cream Man follows the lives of high school students caught in the larger web of school, parties, pressures and the ever-present temptation of drugs and alcohol. Workshops following the production will help students and families understand the themes of the play while exploring ways to avoid the dangers of substance abuse.
