Snack Buddy Drive

It’s time to fuel up for a great cause! The Salem-RoCo Chamber is partnering with the Vinton Chamber to support the incredible work of the Salem/Roanoke County Food Bank.  For over 10 years the Food Bank has provided snacks to local area schools—it’s called the ‘Snack Buddy’ Program, will you join us to help this cause?

The Need:

Every month during the school year, the food bank delivers 80 bags of individually packed snacks to 38 elementary and preschools in 3 localities — Salem, Roanoke County, and Vinton.  Snack Buddy supports local kids by providing a snack to those who don’t have one. The Food Bank spends over $2400 per month to provide this food, so your help is greatly appreciated. We will be collecting individual snacks through the end of September.

How to Participate:

• Collect individually packed, non-perishable snacks all month long at your place of business.
• Tag your donation with your locality so we can keep score.

• No time to shop, no problem. We can accept donations and shop for the snacks for you.
• Drop off at the Salem-RoCo Chamber or the Vinton Chamber or contact us and we can pick up!

• Watch for updates on who is in the lead!

Great snack ideas: granola bars, goldfish, fruit snacks, pretzels, raisins, applesauce pouches — anything easy for a kid to grab and go. (No items containing peanut butter please).
