City of Salem to Host First-Ever State of the City Address

SALEM, VA — The City of Salem will host its inaugural State of the City address on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Salem Civic Center. The event marks the first time the city has held this kind of address, offering residents, business leaders, and community partners a comprehensive look at Salem's recent progress and its vision for the future.

Mayor Renée Turk will deliver the address, sharing updates on the developments, accomplishments, and growth shaping the City of Salem. As Salem's first female mayor, Turk will speak to the city's continued momentum and the priorities that will guide its path forward.

8:30 a.m. — Networking Breakfast

9:00 – 10:00 a.m. — State of the City Program

The morning will open with a networking breakfast, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with fellow community members, city officials, and local business leaders before the program begins. The address itself will run from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
