About Us

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia provides the Ronald McDonald House, a comfortable and supportive home-away-from-home for the families of sick and injured children who must come to the Roanoke area for medical treatment, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room, a respite area for parents to rest and regroup, steps away from their child’s bedside. We are located in South Roanoke, Virginia, a few blocks away from Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Carilion's Children Hospital.

Our Ronald McDonald House is a place of comfort, specifically for pediatric children (ages 0-21, unmarried and using parent's address as permanent address) and their families who need to stay close while their child receives medical care.

Guest families must reside at least 25 miles away. Guests must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Rooms are available for immediate family members (Mom, Dad, siblings, grandparents and legal guardians) with a limit of one room per family.


The Ronald Mcdonald House has multiple giving and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
